Main Job Purpose

To design, implement, and support hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) and VMware solutions, ensuring high performance, scalability, and alignment with Diopoint’s and the customer requirements. The HCI and VMware Engineer is responsible for supporting Diopoint’s HCI offerings, including VxRail, Huawei HCI, HPE HCI, and Nutanix, while ensuring seamless integration with VMware and other virtualization platforms.

Minimum Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Certifications in HCI technologies (e.g., Dell EMC VxRail, Huawei HCI, HPE SimpliVity, Nutanix NCP) and VMware (e.g., VMware VCP).

Minimum Desired Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in HCI and VMware implementation and support.
  • Proven expertise in deploying and managing hyper-converged solutions from VxRail, Huawei, HPE, and Nutanix.
  • Strong experience with VMware technologies, including ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN.

Minimum Desired Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of hyper-converged infrastructure and virtualization technologies.
  • Proficiency in designing and optimizing VMware environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for complex infrastructure issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure

Responsibilities and Accountability

LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

HCI and Vmware Implementation

  • Design, deploy, and configure HCI solutions, including VxRail, Huawei HCI, HPE HCI, and Nutanix.
  • Install and optimize VMware environments, including ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN.
  • Integrate HCI platforms with existing infrastructure and ensure seamless operation.
  • Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies for HCI and VMware environments.

Infrastructure Maintenance and Support

  • Perform regular maintenance, health checks, and updates for HCI and VMware systems.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve issues to maintain high availability and performance.
  • Manage firmware, software, and hardware updates for HCI platforms.
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for escalated issues related to HCI and VMware environments.

Customer Engagement and Support

  • Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and recommend appropriate HCI and VMware solutions.
  • Provide training and technical support to customers on deployed solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, resolving customer issues and ensuring satisfaction.

Vendor and Partner Collaboration

  • Liaise with vendors, including Dell EMC, Huawei, HPE, Nutanix, and VMware, for support and technical guidance.
  • Leverage vendor resources to optimize deployments and secure rebates or incentives.
  • Maintain compliance with vendor certification and partnership requirements.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed documentation for HCI and VMware deployments, configurations, and changes.
  • Prepare reports on system performance, customer engagements, and project progress.
  • Provide technical documentation and training materials for internal teams.

Certifications and Compliance

  • Ensure certifications for HCI platforms and VMware are up to date and aligned with vendor requirements.
  • Support team members in obtaining and maintaining relevant certifications.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and recommend certifications or skills beneficial to Diopoint.

Performance Optimisation and Scalability

  • Analyze system performance and recommend optimizations to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Propose upgrades or changes to HCI and VMware environments to meet future demands

Collaboration and Team Support

  • Work collaboratively with other engineers, project managers, and sales teams to deliver solutions.
  • Share knowledge and expertise to develop team capabilities.
